North Europe and the Baltic

We love to go see places.  We enjoy the views and history.  Who knew, us boomers still like to learn stuff.  2023 started our European touring.  We made it to England, Scotland, Netherland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Latvia and Estonia.  We stayed on the Holland America ship Rotterdam,  We started in Florida and simply enjoyed a wonderful time crossing the Atlantic to England and many ports of call.

Germany

We docked at Kiel Germany and took a short trip to Schwerin.  A very nice, typical German city with a beautiful castle.

Riga, Latvia

What a fun city to explore.  Beautiful art deco architecture along with very old construction and soviet era very plain apartments.

Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn is a great example of a city rebuilding after many years behind the iron curtain. New modern buildings are going up near very old and well preserved examples of medieval architecture.

Helsinki, Finland

Stockholm, Sweden

A beautiful, clean and friendly city.  We missed the Abba museum but thoroughly enjoyed the Vassa museum.  The ship sank on its maiden voyage while still in the harbor.  It was raised after a few hundred years and is over 90% intact.
