Traveling the Country In a Class B Roadtrek Van
We have planned a "tiny" trip that will take us through 17 states and 5 Canadian provinces. When I added up the mileage, using a trip planning tool on an App called www.rvparky.com it comes up to 10,000 miles. Oh what fun it is to be retired and not tied to a calendar.
We will follow old Route 66 from California to Chicago with a slight detour into Arkansas. Then on to Michigan to attend granddaughters graduation. We will then head east stopping at Niagara Falls then to Vermont for a class reunion. Ultimately we will get to the eastern most tip of Nova Scotia and explore Prince Edward island.
Well, plans change. We ended up going 13400 miles with some route deviations. That's the fun in being "Free Range" old folks! 28 States, 4 Provinces, 7 National Parks, 3 Canadian National Parks. The Tiny RV is the best travel decision we have made. We have become RV snobs as we look at huge RVs going down the road and we wonder why they need so much stuff. We stayed at many places where big RVs would not fit.
First stop Utah, where we find Elvis and Marilyn watching over the campground. Then a chilly night at Bryce National Park.
Lake Powell, Page AZ and horseshoe bend are always good places to stop.
On to Petrified Forest National park. Spring flowers add a nice touch.
Old US Route 66. Lots of old and forgotten stops and lots of silly tourist attractions from LA to Chicago.
We got off 66 near Oklahoma City and went into Arkansas because we had never been there before. Hot Springs National Park was interesting. We found a lot of beautiful scenery and very well kept state parks.
On to Missouri
Roaming around Lake Michigan
Onward to the north east, New York and New England.
Into beautiful Vermont
A stop at Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Odds and ends as we head back west.
